Repsol is a key player in the market in Canada through natural gas trading and marketing activities, which are conducted by our Canadian entity Repsol Energy Canada, Inc. The acquisition of Talisman provided a strong upstream portfolio of gas supplies in Western Canada that supplement Repsol’s current storage and transportation capacities across Canada.
We are well positioned to serve our customers at major hubs throughout Canada from AECO across Eastern Canada and all the way into the Maritimes Canada provinces. We provide a full range of natural gas trading and origination services, including baseload gas purchases, baseload gas sales, structured and daily natural gas transactions, seasonal and peaking gas supply services, daily natural gas trading and asset management.
Repsol operates the Canaport™ LNG receiving and regasification terminal in Saint John, New Brunswick with a 75% interest. Our partner, Irving Oil, holds a 25% interest. The plant has a maximum send-out capacity of 1.2 billion cubic feet (Bcf) per day, and Repsol has a 25-year contract in place for 100% of this capacity.
Repsol serves customers in New England and the Canadian Maritime provinces through its capacity in Canaport LNG™.
