The Stakeholder Report as a reflection of Repsol’s Sustainability Approach

Transparency is a key pillar of our Sustainability approach. In fact, being transparent about what we do and how we do it is what our Stakeholder Report is about. This publication allows us to share information with stakeholders and communities about our safety, environment and social programs. We also provide details on local vendor spending, municipal taxes and royalties paid annually, as well as highlights of our core operating areas.

Repsol’s Sustainability Model aims to provide accessible, efficient and safe energy to meet growing energy demand without compromising the needs of future generations. We support the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and use the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a reference when defining our Sustainability priorities.
This year, and in alignment with the company’s Global Sustainability Plan, the Canadian business developed its 2019 Sustainability Plan which incorporates initiatives and measures specific to the local context of Alberta. Some of our Plan’s commitments have to do with management of our operational impacts, engagement with Aboriginal Communities to support social investments partnerships and the identification of water recycling opportunities to minimize the use of fresh water in our completions activities.
