Safety & Environment Land

Reducing our footprint

We are committed to monitoring and reducing our footprint where possible, and to restore the impacted areas following our operations.

What we’re doing

We conduct studies to identify and minimize encroachment on environmental features, such as streams and wetlands. We also work to minimize the size of land to be cleared, and try to avoid sensitive environmental areas through routing and schedule adjustments.

Exploration in environmentally-sensitive areas

As a global operator, each of our geographic areas has unique operating, environmental and social considerations. We are committed to environmental performance that meets or exceeds regulations wherever we operate, and strive to minimize our environmental footprint.

What we’re doing

We employ sound environmental planning to support all our seismic, construction and drilling projects. This can involve baseline environmental studies, formal or informal environmental impact assessments, and attendant protection plans, depending on the local environmental setting and sensitivities. We have policies and procedures that we follow to ensure all options are considered before we make decisions and work towards meeting our goals.
